We went home for the Thanksgiving holiday to celebrate with our families, since we won't be home on Christmas this year. (We're staying in Columbus to have Kira open her presents from Santa under our tree.) Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous, as usual. (Thank you, Aunt Rita.) Kira was pretty shy around Jason's family, as there were a million people there she hasn't seen in a long time. Also, she didn't nap, so she was really cranky by the time we left there. We stayed at my dad's and had a very nice time. On the way out of town Friday we stopped at my grandma's to see her and my mom and in Sebring to see Marvel. Kira watched Sesame Street all the way home. (This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for portable DVD players.) We decorated the tree this weekend and set up Kira's train set, which was so much fun. Kira helped Daddy decide where to put ornaments on the tree. She was really, really interested in the remote control button for the Christmas lights, which we have subsequently turned on and off so many times it seems like we have a blinking set. She is slowly learning the "touch only with one finger" rule. (Thank you, Deidra.) She likes watching the train go around the tree, and she tried to block the tracks with her foot a few times. So far no mishaps with the tree or the train.
In case this entry is a little too cutsie for you, here's a "real" moment with Kira this past week. She has watched me pick lint out from between her toes after I take off her socks for some time. In case you think they aren't watching what you are doing, look out. She's started to check between her own toes (every single one on both feet) for sock lint. Last week I caught her eating it. This, she didn't see her mother doing...
